About FASA

The Fastpitch America Softball Association (FASA) is a girls fastpitch softball organization founded on March 14, 2013. We sanction tournaments nationwide and give every team a season-long path to the FASA World Series. FASA started with 550 teams in its first season and has grown every year since.

“We are the CAN DO organization.”

Our goal is to be the most team, coach, fan, and player friendly organization in the nation, and to provide only top-quality officials at every tournament. Our purpose is to hold only the highest-quality tournaments by focusing on what is in the best interest of our teams and players.

FASA is creating lifelong memories one pitch at a time.

How FASA works

FASA sanctions girls fastpitch softball tournaments across the country. Teams register, play sanctioned events, earn points all season, and chase a berth to the FASA World Series.

  • Create your free account as a coach or parent and get started right away - or request umpire, gate, or director access for review.
  • Build your team and add your roster - players go on right away, and you can invite parents so they are kept in the loop.
  • Find a sanctioned event, register a division, and play.

How FASA is organized

FASA runs through a chain of directors, each responsible for a piece of the map:

  • National leadership sets policy and runs the national events and World Series.
  • Regional directors oversee the Eastern and Western regions.
  • State directors manage sanctioning within their state.
  • Area and league directors run events and support teams closer to home.
  • Umpire-in-Chief (UIC) roles oversee officiating at the state and area level.

Each director's powers are scoped to their own area, so decisions are made by the people closest to the teams.

The road to the World Series

Points are how teams are ranked, and they open the door to the FASA World Series. Every team that plays earns points, bigger events are worth more, and Double-Points Weekends can multiply them further.

Qualifying is participation-friendly: a team qualifies once it has played a State or Regional Qualifier, or finished in the top two at an NIT. Directors can also waive a team in.

Fair, local competition

When your team hosts a FASA event, FASA protects it. No other FASA tournament will be scheduled within roughly 60 to 75 miles of your event on the same dates. Larger markets like the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas allow some exceptions, because there is room for more than one event.

This keeps events from cannibalizing each other and gives host teams a fair draw.

Why teams choose FASA

  • Play by the rules that fit your team, with formats and time limits set per event.
  • Geographic protection for host teams, so your event has room to grow.
  • A clear, participation-friendly path to the World Series and national events.
  • Localized national events that cut down on travel.
